A space consecrated to history.

Imperium Art was born fifty metres from the Colosseum, for travellers who wanted to take home something more than a fridge magnet.

Why we started

Via Cavour is one of the great approaches to ancient Rome. Every day, thousands of people walk it on their way to the Forum and the Colosseum, and most of them leave the city with something mass-produced that will not survive the decade.

We thought there was room for something else: a small boutique that treats Roman sculpture the way a gallery treats art. Fewer pieces. Better ones. Chosen because they carry a story worth telling, not because they sell quickly.

How we choose

Every sculpture is selected for three things — the accuracy of its detail, the quality of its finish, and whether it earns its place on a desk or a shelf twenty years from now. Bronze-effect casts, hand-finished patinas, pewter figurines made with a technique older than the Empire itself.

Some pieces reproduce works you can see the same afternoon: the Prima Porta Augustus in the Vatican Museums, the Nike of Samothrace in the Louvre, the Medusa that adorned imperial shields. Others are simply beautiful objects made by people who take the craft seriously.

What we are not

We do not sell antiques, and we never describe our work as archaeological. Everything here is a new object, made now, inspired by something old. That distinction matters to us and it should matter to you.

Where to find us

The boutique is open every day, 10:00 to 20:00, at Via Cavour 280. If you cannot get to Rome, everything on this site ships worldwide — free within Italy.
